Brighton are certainly not taking it slow when it comes to their transfer business this summer.
With four games remaining of the season and European football still up for grabs, Roberto De Zerbi has already made one addition to his squad with the signing of Joao Pedro from Watford for a club-record transfer fee.
The 21-year-old Brazilian forward will be another versatile young South American, who will be hoping to have a similar impact to the one that Julio Enciso and Facundo Buonanotte have made this season.
However, De Zerbi looks to be closing in on a further two signings to bolster his midfield options for next season, with James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud both reportedly being close to signing on free transfers.
Both Milner and Dahoud would be two more experienced heads.
Milner if he joins at the age of 37 would add a vast wealth of Premier League experience having made 617 appearances, which sees him sit third for the most appearances in the Premier League with only Ryan Giggs (632) and Gareth Barry (652) having made more.
Both Milner and Dahoud also have experience of playing in Europe having made over 170 appearances between them.
Incomings are unlikely to stop there with De Zerbi in the market to sign another centre half, with Levi Colwill’s loan finishing at the end of this season and the chances of him joining permanently looking unlikely.
Despite the fact that Brighton are trying to act quickly to bring players in, given how well they have done this season, a number of their star performers will be in high demand.
Two players who have been heavily linked with moves away from The Amex in the summer are World Cup winner and current top goalscorer Alexis Mac Allister and midfielder Moises Caicedo.
In January Caicedo was the subject of interest from Arsenal, who reportedly had two bids turned down for the Ecuador international.
That interest from the Gunners is likely to be revived in the summer but Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with potential moves for Caicedo.
Mac Allister over the last few months have been heavily linked with a move to Anfield and is reportedly Jurgen Klopp’s number-one target this summer.
After Brighton’s 3-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, De Zerbi admitted that some players may leave.
He told Sky Sports: “For sure we will lose some players, maybe Caicedo and Mac Allister.”
Mac Allister and Caicedo are not the only players to have been linked with moves in the summer.
Kaoru Mitoma, Pervis Estupinan and Robert Sanchez having also been linked with moves to other Premier League clubs in recent weeks.
The summer looks set to be a busy one for the Seagulls in terms of incomings and outgoings, which I’m sure will bring contrasting feelings of both excitement and nerves for fans.
