Albion skipper has been named in England’s 25-man squad for next month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia, five years after his solitary cap for his county.

It is the first time that Dunk has been named in Gareth Southgate’s squad since November 2018 when he played in their 3-0 friendly win over the USA at Wembley.

Since then despite being an ever-present and impressive at the heart of the Seagulls back-line in the Premier League, he has been overlooked.

But the 31-year-old’s display have now seen him recalled to the squad.

It caps off a week so far for Dunk, who led his boyhood club in their win over Southampton which secured European football in Albion’s history.
