Albion winger Katie Robinson has been named in Sarina Weigman’s 23-player squad for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The 20-year has impressed for the Seagulls, despite them being involved in a relegation battle for most of the campaign, before securing their safety with two games to spare.

Robinson made 22 appearances in the WSL scoring four goals and picking up six assists.

Despite having only received her first call-up for the Lionesses in November, Robinson has made four caps and impressed Weigman in that short space of time to earn her place on the plane for the World Cup.

One of the big omissions from the squad was Euro 2022 top scorer, Arsenal’s Beth Mead who has not fully recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury she suffered in November.

Another big omission was former Albion defender Maya Le Tissier, who has been a key player for Manchester United as they finished second in the WSL.

The Lionesses will be looking to enjoy the success they did last year when they won Euro 2022.

England’s 23-man squad for World Cup:
