Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso has been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike in their 1-1 draw against Manchester City, after winning Match of the Day’s Goal of the Season award earlier this week. The goal was from 30 yards and was hit with such pinpoint accuracy to curl in the top corner, which left Stefan Ortega with no chance and even saw the travelling City fans applauding the effort.
Enciso’s goal was a standout moment in a season that saw Brighton finish 6th the Premier League. The Seagulls had some memorable moments throughout the campaign, but Enciso’s goal was one of the highlights.
Former Manchester United, Newcastle, Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen said he ‘can’t think of a better goal this season,’
The Paraguayan’s nomination for the Premier League Goal of the Season award is well deserved. His goal against Manchester City was a moment of brilliance that will live long in the memory of Brighton fans. Enciso’s ability to score from long range is a valuable asset for the Seagulls, and they will be hoping that he can continue to produce moments of magic in the seasons to come.
